Pipefitting Pre-Apprenticeship Program

Do you enjoy tinkering with tools and fixing things? Then, become a pipefitter, and use your practical problem-solving to build a rewarding career.

The Pipe Fitting Pre-Apprenticeship program will teach you how to measure, construct, install, repair, and maintain piping systems, preparing you with the skills to enter your apprenticeship.

Our Pipefitting pre-apprenticeship program is designed to prepare you with the hands-on training, practical skills, and core courses needed to get started toward career success and satisfaction in the trades. Upon successful completion of our program, trainees earn Core and Level 1 NCCER trade certifications as well as *2,000 hours of on-the-job training credit, which qualifies you for employment with an organization that can sponsor your continued education as a registered apprentice.

Florida Trade Academy’s Pipefitting Program

  • 150 hours of live virtual classes and hands-on training
  • All trainees are registered in the National Center for Construction Education & Research’s (NCCER) registry to track earned credentials.
  • Weeks 1-8 Core: Introduction to Basic Construction Skills NCCER Certification
  • Weeks 9-24: Level 1 NCCER Pipefitting Certification

*2,000 OTJ hours are applied when entering an ABC Florida Gulf Coast Registered Apprenticeship

What Will I Do as a Pipefitter?
